Disaster Relief and International Development Projects

There are a large number of organisations involved in international development. You can find details of the work of these organisations on the websites listed below. It is possible support the organisations listed below by making make a regular donation.

If you are a UK taxpayer, use Gift Aid to enable the charity to reclaim tax you have paid to HM Revenue and Customs, making your gift worth more.

General International Development Bodies

DfID 0845 300 4100	The Department for International Development is a UK government department. It responds to natural and man-made disasters, and supports long-term programmes designed to reduce poverty. DfID do not accept donations.	www.dfid.gov.uk
DEC 0870 6060 900	The Disasters Emergency Committee is an umbrella organisation for 13 UK aid agencies (listed below). The DEC co-ordinates the UK’s national appeal in response to major disasters overseas.	www.dec.org.uk
